8 Dancers in Tartans Performing

The Caledonian Society of Baton Rouge Scottish Country Dancers meet every Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Way Presbyterian (250 S. Foster Drive, across from the State Police Headquarters).  The sessions are divided into two parts: 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. is a period for beginners and newcomers to learn the basic steps and simple dances; and 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. is for the more advanced members and the performance group to work on their dance repertoire.

All you need is a pair of soft shoes (or ballet shoes).  The dancing is fun, grand exercise, and a part of Scottish culture.  The Scottish Country Dancers perform annually at community events, festivals, Highland Games, and, of course, meetings of the Caledonian Society of Baton Rouge.

Beginners are welcome, and it's free (but donations to cover the church hall are gladly accepted).  Walk-ins also accepted.

For more information, contact: Lyndon Williams (Instructor) at (225)272-2574.
