Caledonian Claymore
Club
Dedicated to the Study of
the Highland Broadsword
The Caledonian Broadsword Academy of Baton Rouge is an active sword fighting
group in the Baton Rouge area that is dedicated to the study and practice of Scottish martial arts, particularly the
Basket hilt broadsword, historically known as the Claymore (or "great sword").
Our intent is to be a source of recreation, education, and fellowship.
An official section of the Caledon...ian Society of Baton Rouge, we have recently been accepted as a branch of the Cateran Society. Our instructor in Regimental Highland Broadsword is James Mungall and our Mentor for all other styles is Christopher Thompson based in Minneapolis, MN. The Cateran Society website can be viewed here: https://sites.google.com/site/cateransociety/
Our group meets on every other Tuesday at 7pm at Broadmoor Presbyterian
Church, (9340 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Activities Building behind the church) and welcomes any interested
newcomers. Because of the rotating schedule and equipment necessary, please call or email James Mungall at
225-278-1577 or jeb_mungall@yahoo.com to confirm your attendance.
